One of the Best Days

Yesterday was one of my favorite days since Gretchen was born.  I've realized that some days I don’t spend a lot of time with Gretchen because I’m cleaning, running errands, doing crafts, or something else.  There is nothing more important in this life than spending it with the ones you love.  Yesterday I decided to put off most of the cleaning that needed to be done and just play with Gretchen.  It was an awesome day with her.  We spent time practicing sitting down and laying on our bellies, we played with lots and lots of new toys (thanks to Karlyn and Deni), Gretchen spent some time napping on me (she has learned to fall asleep in her bed by herself, so it was fun to cuddle her while she slept), I sat close by while Gretchen played in her bouncer.  She is always in a good mood during the day, and yesterday she was especially happy.  She has been able to laugh for several months now, but I never grabbed my phone to video it because she will stop and just stare while getting a picture or a video.  Yesterday I got her giggling so hard and for a long time, so I got my phone and videoed it.  Later that night Tyson got her laughing and we got a few more videos.  She has the cutest laugh ever, sorry the videos are so long but it was soooo incredibly cute.  She is the sweetest baby you will ever meet we are so happy and blessed to have her in our lives.  We love her so much.

Almost 5 Months

It is crazy how fast time goes, I can’t believe that our sweet little Gretchen is almost 5 months.  It’s been a while since my last post, so this will be a picture and video purge.  She finally learned to roll over by herself, after a lot of practice.  She still LOVES chewing on her hands, and likes to gag herself.  She has laughed several times, but never does it long enough to video.  She still loves TV, I found a Mickey Mouse show that she likes to watch, and it keeps her entertained while I’m cooking dinner.  She likes to spit a lot, I even have a video of her crying and spitting.  She has learned to grab her feet and holds them all the time even in the bath.  She loves her baths, and calms right down once she hits the water if she is fussy.  She likes when we put her feet on her face, for some reason it is soooo funny to her.  She has really started liking toys in the last few weeks.  I started her on rice cereal last week and she is really starting to like it, but she has to “talk” the whole time she’s eating.

If you remember the post "New Floor" from a little over 2 years ago you remember that we took out the ugly dirty carpet and put in new laminate flooring.  The after pictures also show the furnishings we put in the room and how it all came together.

Almost 3 Months!!!

I can't believe that my sweet baby Gretchen is almost 3 months old.  It has gone by way too fast, and she is growing like a weed.  Here are some recent pictures of her.  She has been making “cooing” noises for several weeks now.  She can put her hands in her mouth, and she really likes chewing on her fingers.  She can fake cry to get our attention.  She is holding her head up very well.  She grins all the time, especially when she gets what she wants.  She likes watching tv and movies.  She loves music.  She’s almost grown out of her newborn size clothes, but too small for the 3 month clothes.  She is starting to stick out her tongue, and sometimes tries to mimic what we do. She gets really mad when she’s hot, so made she screams bloody murder.  She is super layed back, she’s a super chill baby (we love that about her).  She has been sleeping through the night for about 2 weeks straight.  Hope you all enjoy the pictures of her.
